It took me hard work, focus and dedication to get there. In Sept. 2012, I laced up my first pair of speed skates and joined the Toronto Speed Skating Club. The long blades and tight suit were a lot to absorb. Over the next 3 years, I climbed up the high-performance ladder, from a silver medal at the Ontario Regional Championships, to my first National competition in March 2015. I am now starting my fifth season with the Canadian National Team, under my new coach Bart Schouten.
Following my first season as a speed skater, back in the summer of 2012, I made the decision to purchase my first ever road bike. With a will to improve on the ice, I knew I would need to start putting in some work during the summer. I began to ride road casually with my friends and teammates but it truly did not take long for me to develop a desire to compete in the sport ...
As I am kicking-off my fifth season with the Canadian National Team Development/Next Generation Squad, I am aspiring to become a core member of the program , and ultimately, to qualify for the world cups and for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
